1. Overview
Oksan takes personal information seriously. This policy covers the Android, iOS, and macOS apps and the website oksan.xyz.
There is no sign-up or login. Most dictionary data stays only on your device.
2. Information we collect
Stored only on device
Bookmarks, recent searches (up to 15), view history, settings, and today’s-word cache stay on the device and are not automatically uploaded.
App usage analytics (Android · iOS · macOS)
The three app platforms share the same Google Firebase Analytics project. It may receive screen views, app version, device/OS technical data, and timestamps. Lemma text, search queries, and entry IDs are not sent. On Android, advertising ID collection is disabled and the AD_ID permission is removed.
Website analytics (oksan.xyz)
The website uses a separate Google Analytics 4 property (property ID 501780014), not the app Firebase project. It may receive page-type hits (e.g. home, lemma, search, browse, privacy) and coarse region/device/browser aggregates. Lemma text, search queries, and entry IDs are not sent; URLs and titles are replaced with generic paths (e.g. /ru/lemma, /ru/search). Google signals and ad personalization signals are disabled.
Information you send
Bug reports and word requests are sent to Google Apps Script only when you tap submit. Developer contact uses your chosen mail app.
We do not collect
- Name, phone, address, date of birth
- Accounts/passwords, location, contacts, photos, mic, camera
- Advertising identifiers or payment card data
- On-device TTS audio

4. Retention
- On-device data: until you clear it or delete the App
- Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics 4: per Google and operator settings
- Bug/word reports: usually within 1 year after the purpose is met
- Support email: up to 3 years after resolution
5. Third parties
We do not sell personal information. Google LLC (Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics 4, and Apps Script), Apple Inc., and Google Play may process analytics, reports, distribution, purchases, and diagnostics, which may involve transfers outside your country (including the United States).
6. Notifications & permissions
Today’s-word and bookmark review alerts are local notifications. No push token is registered on a server. Internet access is used for analytics and optional reports; notification permission is for local alerts only.
7. Your rights
You can clear search history, view history, and bookmarks in settings, or delete the App. For access/deletion of submitted reports or email, contact hachudamoi@icloud.com.
8. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information and we will delete it where appropriate.
9. Security
- Most dictionary/study data stays on device

10. Changes
We will announce changes via app updates, store listings, or oksan.xyz/privacy, with an effective date for material changes.
